In the late 1800s photograph the hippest, newest and coolest. It was the man wealthy family wanted to show up in his home as a sign that they had been well off, that it was modern. So did the family Rydin in Walmstedtska farm in Uppsala. The walls in the parlor adorned picture people with photographs and in the smoking room was a fancy tripod with a photo album so that one county could show up photographs they had in their possession. The entire frame and the album is covered with fine chip carving. Walmstedtska farm is part of Upplansmuseet and is a reconstruction of the floor Professor Herman Rydin rented for his family picture people in the late 1800s.
